AgriMap360 is Above Sensing's product to create a more holistic approach to nutrient management practices with farmers in the interior of British Columbia. Book a meeting with us today to find out how we can help!
Meet your Nutrient Management Planner
Santiago Botero
Santiago is an Articling Agronomy Technologist and registered Nutrient Management Planner specializing in the use of drone technology and innovative solutions on farms. Passionate about agriculture, technology, and environmental stewardship, he co-founded Above Sensing. A proud Selkirk College graduate with over five years of experience in environmental monitoring, Santiago brings the expertise, technology, and skills you need to better understand nutrients in your farm. How we can help
The map above shows the different phosphorus affected and vulnerable aquifer areas. Clicking the image will take you to the mapping application created by the province of British Columbia.
Nutrient Management Plans (NMP):
In British Columbia, certain farms are required by law to create and implement Nutrient Management Plans. There are a few criteria which a farm has to meet in order to require a NMP:
- They are located in one of the vulnerable aquifer recharge areas listed below,
- Their post-harvest nitrate test is 100 kg/ha (89 lb/ac) or more, and
- Meet any of the following conditions:
- have a livestock or poultry operation with a total agricultural land base of 5 hectares (12 acres) or more, or
- have a horticulture operation of 30 hectares (74 acres) or more, or
- is located in the Hullcar vulnerable aquifer recharge area and have an agricultural land base of 5 hectares (12 acres) or more (includes poultry, livestock, and horticultural operations)
We collect farm, soil, and multispectral aerial data to provide a comprehensive nutrient management plan that surpasses other basic plans.

Drone Data Collection
If your farm already has a Nutrient Management Plan, our drones specialized data collection technology allows us to see any areas where nutrient application is not working as expected.
We also provide a variety of other mapping products and services, such as LiDAR scanning for elevation mapping, GIS analysis, and drone sales. Find out more at https://abovesensing.ca
Funding Options
The Investment Agriculture Fund provides funding the implementation of different programs, including the Nutrient Management Plan. Go to https://iafbc.ca/beneficial-management-practices/plans-designs-bmps/ to find out more.
We help navigate the whole process to ensure that the cost of implementing this technology is covered. This includes the Nutrient Management Plan, as well as the drone collected data.
